This is probably a simple configuration issue. I have an LG 42LE5400 Smart TV with Netflix. It is capable of receiving the 5.1 surround stream from Netflix via the TV’s optical audio out. I do have it connected as such to the RX-V1900 and I do hear the audio through the speakers connected to the V1900, however not in 5.1 Surround. I have DSP set to “Movie-Standard” which works well with DVD’s and Blu-ray’s. With the Netflix in this mode, I just get sound from the center speaker. If I switch to “Pure Direct” or “Straight Enhance” I get 2ch Stereo. I have this issue with Netflix content confirmed to be HD and Dolby 5.1. Can anybody suggest a fix?
