Panasonic UT50 Deals

Tracking the deals for the popular UT50 series

The P50UT50 dropped from $849 last week to $799 on Amazon as on Sept 11 2012. Heard it was much lower a few weeks back (759 on Amazon & Sears) - going to hold on a little while longer.

Please post if you find something better.

Not sure if it will get to $699, but who knows. May stay around $749-$759. But great price on a great TV. Better video processing than the E550 Samsung, and better blacks. To get more comparable pic quality in Samsung, you have to step up to the E6500 level. While I do like certain Samsung features, Panasonic is truly the best bang for the buck in 2012, considering price and performance. All levels are good choices, whether it be U50, UT50, or ST50, depending upon budget and preferences.

Best Buy, Amazon and Walmart all have the 50" UT50 for $699.

Very excited BB dropped the 55UT50 down to $899 which is crazy. But If I can get the ST50 for 1024, should i go for it? It would be a no brainer except I stil need to get my subwoofer, L/R channel and receiver. I might just have to go with the ST its just too much of a good deal

I'm seeing $599 on Amazon at the moment for the 50". Might pull the trigger, lol.

It KILLS me I didn't pull the trigger on that and stupidly kicked around the idea for an ST50 instead!! I've got $400 in Amazon credits from selling back some old text books and stuff and finally decided I shouldn't go for the $1000 ST50 just because I have those credits and now the UT is back up to ~$800 or more!!

What makes me more frustrated is that the 2013 releases won't have a "low end" 3D to replace the UT series, right? So entry price for a 3D set is going to be minimum $1000 to $1200 on amazon for the next few months for the ST60, right? (Based on last year, the previous models didn't go on deep discount on big sites like amazon...)

That would be correct Alex.
Anybody think Amazon will restock the 50" or are they just getting rid of it to "make room" for the 2013 models? They've apparently sold out and I balked and didn't buy it :-(
post #12 of 25
I really hope they do so I can snag one cheap!!

Also, I don't think there is a 2013 version of the UT. I think the "lowest end" 1080p set with 3D will be the ST60 with a MSRP of like $1300 for the 50". So if we do get a "cheap" ~$700 set like the UT50 it will only be 2D....

I just bought a TC-P50UT50 this weekend from Panasonic through a workplace Employee Purchase Program for $619 + tax with free shipping. I checked this morning and Panasonic no longer lists pricing info for this model which I believe indicates they are out of stock.

I picked up the TC-P50UT50 for $699 at Best Buy and the sale is still going on...

I just got the UT50 at Best Buy for $699, and it's incredible!

Here's a great deal for someone still shopping for one

http://www.gibbyselectronicsupermarket.ca/televisions-plus-televisions-c-24_28_299.html

if you price match this to a bestbuy store with no stock in there store but can order it then there price is 1599 right now so with the match and the 10% off the difference brings this TCP60UT50 down to like 1100 bucks taxes in

now that's a sweet deal

Courtesy of fellow AVS member "undermined", use the promo code EMCXWVV85 at Newegg and the 50UT50 goes from $699 to $649 with free shipping and no tax. Best deal at the moment, I believe! Just ordered mine smile.gif

Costco is dropping the 55" UT50 from $799 to $750 on Jan 31.

I got the 50" UT last week at Best Buy for $699.99. I upgraded from a bottom line 42" 1080p Panasonic from 2008 and was happy with the better quality. Then I started using the internet and the TV just froze and I had to get up to manually turn off the tv and turn it back on. Also once I got the Samsung 4100 3D glasses the 3d on the tv would reset after 10-20 mins of use, then it would go back to 2d for 5 seconds then return and re-sync the glasses and go back to 3d. I really wish I got the 55" once I got the 50" home, since the one I got is defective Im going to return it and go in on the Costco 55UT50 deal.

u spent too much, considering the 55" is only $49 more @ costco and better return policy & an additional 1 yr warranty.

Unfortunately, Sears website and their inventory system is terrible. Because they show none in stock in my area...I can't order the unit even if I want to have it shipped. *sigh*

I was able to pick up the 60ut50 for just under a grand out the door at the local best buy. It was their display model but I don't really have a problem with that. I figure they broke it in for me. Took delivery and set it up with some nice setting from other threads and am enjoying the awesome picture. Mind you, I upgraded from an ancient 65" rear projector so the difference is like night and day. I really like the netflix interface much better than the one I had on my wii. I guess I need to fully join the 21st century and upgrade my AVR to one that supports hdmi and get a ps3 for BD.

The TC-P55UT50 is 699$ at Costco. Thinking about picking one up.
