Saturday Night Live 2012-13 - Page 13

It will be interesting to see how next season goes and who they will bring in to replace Hader, Sudekis, Myers, and Armisen. I felt like the newer cast members were all somewhat lackluster all season, though some are better than others.

What a great send off for Fred and Hader. The marriage bit was great, and then letting Fred sing a song and have all those alt folks come out and join him was a great touch. Next season Killem is probably going to be the main male focus with Strong as the female leader. The new fat girl and guy did absolutely nothing I enjoyed this season.

I want more Nasim Pedrad.

Unfortunately, we may be losing her as well!

She's been tapped for the lead role in a Lorne Michaels pilot, so if it's picked up that will unfortunately be the end of her on SNL, at least as a primary player.

Another item on the "John Mulaney" show. Mulaney is also a former writer for SNL and known for creating Weekend Update’s city correspondent Stefon with Bill Hader.

Totally agree. Loved last ep of weekend update with Amy coming back and doing "really"'

Seth and stephons the graduate saluting short, and Fred joined by Carrie in their band and his consorting friends from portlandia for his formal sign off.

(btw, portlandia is a great little show that gets far too little recognition here on avs)

He and Bobby Moynahan will be the ONLY returning male players. Tim Robinson and Jay Pharaoh are quite awful. They will be VERY VERY SHALLOW on the male side and will have to be very lucky to find some new outstanding talent. I will really miss Hader's stable of impressions.

Cecily Strong and Kate McKinnon were HUGE finds currently in the "featured" category. But both of them were truly "regulars" from the get-go in my opinion. No need for apprenticeship. They are both TERRIFIC.

And Vanessa Bayer has also proven to be wonderful, as is Nasim Pedrad if only they would have given her real material. With the loss of Abby Elliot and Jenny Slate the wonderful Khardashians skit disappeared, along with Angelina Jolie, etc. But Vanessa Bayer has brought out some great characters, and she and Cecily Strong doing "not porn stars anymore" ads are always hysterical (I always look forward to find out what will be Cecily's final crazy sexual act mention while Vanessa says something else, while both keeping a straight face and the audience explodes with laughter).

Agreed.
