Issue with 1.33:1 Bluray rips and WDTV SMP

So I ripped all of my blurays to m2ts originally to stream to my WDTV Live box from my NAS. This is via ethernet as wifi would stutter a bit. I added a second box that needed to be wifi so I began to convert all of my m2ts to .m4v and they all look great with the constant quality and so far so good. I then, however, hit a snag. Any bluray m2ts that I convert (using handbrake to re-encode it with h.264 into an m4v) that is a 1.33:1, ala Snow White, Pinnochio, The Wizard of Oz - when I play them on my pc they work just like any of the others I converted, but on the WDTV they give a file unsupported error.... Anyone else run into this only for bluray rips of 1.33:1 aspect ration material? Very odd.

Thanks,
Jon

I don't usu M4V for any of my media player. The only time I re-encode to M4V is whenever I want to add another movie to my mobile devices. Last time, I tested a M4V with my parent's WDTV2, it played fine. However, as soonest I paused, rewind or forward the movie, the sound was out of sync and some times there was sound, but no picture.

Try mkv's instead.

The reason I'm using m4v is so they get along with my apple devices as well. I've had no issues with them what so ever, with the exception of this odd problem with the 1.33:1 aspect movies. So just using mkv's isn't really an option.

Thanks,
Jon

Try DVDFab.
