Panamax M5400 USB charging port question

I have the Panamax M5400 and it has a USB charging port on the front. I have tried charging a Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, and a small dumbphone, but it doesn't charge any of them. Has anyone else had similar issues? From their website, it says it can't charge all devices, but I haven't been able to get it to charge any of them..well I've only tried 3..

An update - My controllers would not charge either. I went to the store, plugged in my phone into the m5300 and it charged fine. I have already exchanged mine for another one and am waiting for it to come in. thx for replies.
