Not that it matters much with this ending soon but they were able to get off the island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, somehow get transportation to the Philippine Islands, have the adventure there and get back to the island in just a few days?
I know the sub took them out past the blockade but surely the sub did not make the trip all the way to the Philippines from the Indian ocean to drop them off and who picked them up to return?

My bet there were some scenes shot that explained how the Philippines trip was made to but to wrap up they needed to be cut. Loved the bit about the "coupe d'etat and the US" though. That's something that networks have been reluctant to touch with a 10 foot pole and maybe why it took more than low ratings to cancel this show.

They film the episodes prior to writing them? That explains so much about this show. biggrin.gif

How many lashes would be appropriate? Too many and you kill the guy, which is not Chaplin's aim.
Since they always seem to surface the sub and then w/o any apparent mode of transportation, they appear at their destination. Must have a "transporter" from Star Trek. rolleyes.gif

No the writers are abusing that whole perseus system idea to let the boat go back and forth and nobody know. Kinda glad its almost over I thought that was very poor writing

They fired a nuke during the first episode.

Let's just hope they fire more nukes during the final episode. cool.gif

This week's Last Resort was so filled with soap opera moments, i wanted to throw up in my wastebasket. The only reason I haven't cancelled my season pass is that there are only two episodes left. What a waste of Andre Braugher's formidable talents this mess has been!

I was laughing at the guys volunteering to be lashed. They must have sh#t when they saw it wasn't a wet noodle that they would be lashed with. Oh well, too much skin on my back anyhow.

Yes, yes this show trying to raise the stakes with "love" is soapy. I love the premise and would love to see it fleshed out.

Couple of things from the show: Was the boat that brought the family members the very same boat that came to rescue the Islanders in Lost.

The Chinese Ambasador had bruises and scrapes on his face at the end. Yet I didn't see what happened to him....my guess something happened that was later cut.

I noticed that too....I thought I had must have dozed off during the part where that was explained! smile.gif

His place was being raided by the locals. They showed this in an earlier scene.

Formulaically they probably believe that adding soap broadens their demographic. They'll leave the hard core stuff to the cable networks. After all it's really about selling ads not really pleasing fans.

I didn't realize that Last Resort would have a month break between episodes. Last 12/13/12 and next 1/10/13?!?

what do think will happen tonite?

I finally got caught up. Dang, I'm really enjoying this show in spite of all the logic leaps. It's a lot of fun and Andre Braugher is just superb. Can't understand why it didn't hit a more popular chord.

Really? Read this thread or the majority of critics reviews.

The problem with Andre Braugher on this show is that there should be more of him and less of everyone else and the inane cliches of their lives on the island.

Well, I guess this won't be the first time I disagreed with the majority of critics. To me, it's been a fun thrill ride and I found the premise fascinating. Maybe they could have focused more on the conspiracy and less on the island shennagans, but to me that's a minor quibble. Big Conspiracy shows like 'Rubicon' - which I loved - tend to turn off the anti-intellectual set and I realize this show was on a broadcast network, with those inherent requirements.

How many new episodes are left to air of this series after tonight?
I always thought the premise of this series was good for a mini-series but not a long term series...
I thought I heard two. So sad it is getting so good.

Anybody else have audio issues tonight?

I lost voice audio twice... it was curious too... both times the music and ambient noise were there... just the character dialog was gone... and both times it was the same character involved!

Made me wonder if there was intentional work at play or something.

Really liked this episode. A couple minor issues, but overall pretty good. I was surprised the captain fired on the ship. Looks like he crossed that line.

I think having the town cheer him and praise him could of led ot the comments about him wanting to be a dictatorship and king of this island.
This isn't going to make all the way to the end of the season?
There's only 2 episodes left

This week's episode was a masterwork of television suspense, IMO. Looks like a coup is imminent in DC and a mutiny among Chapman's crew. The tension is ratcheting up, as is the pressure on Marcus. Looks like he was ready to sink that destroyer! eek.gif But he was also grateful an act of insubordination saved him from an act that would have destroyed his soul. He was also apparently ready to calmly die at the cute spy's hand. It's a fascinating portrait of developing megalomania, and Braugher is one of few actors capable of pulling it off.

This was, to me, the strongest episode of this series yet. Too bad there are only two left - and a lot of ground (or, water) to cover.
I hope they get to fire more of dem nukes! biggrin.gif

Be a great way to end the series - half the world mad enough at the US to start a major war.

I'm not so sure he was going to go so quietly. He had his own handgun under the bible he was holding. smile.gif
