I'm sure you will like the 4520!
Agreed, Jerry. What I wrote wasn't intended to scare someone moving from older AVRs to the 4520, but from my 4311 user's perspective. If had, say, a Denon 3311, a 4310 or older 5xxx Denon, or an older non-Denon AVR, and could afford the 4520, it's a no brainer upgrade. Both the 4311 and 4520 are extremely worthy products, but it depends on what your 'use' will be (right now, Pro is an issue if time=money, but even that's got a benefit on the 4520 for multiple sub 'fresh' calibrations), and if you see yourself using the newer feature for 'future planning'.
Besides, for 'most' users, consumer/basic XT32 is just fine. Just not for all of us....
OTOH, if you find the 4520's capability to do multi-zone HDMI passthrough appealing, you can learn from ccotenj's example where he used Instapreview to monitor a PC from another room, which might be handy if that PC's your musical server. Or to do matrix switching at will, for that matter. That's not me, but there are people for whom that's more important than tweaking frequency response curves. We're not the Borg, after all....
