Yes you are right, unless the master was digitally processed as is the case for a lot of recordings these days. I don't understand why you have such a bad opinion of Vinyl and yet your avatar is a really high end turntable?
My liking of vinyl does not make me blind to the technical inferiority of the format.
Again, you do not understand digital at all. Bit depth has to do only with one thing: noise floor. To claim therefore compression is a complete misuse of the term.
A higher sample rate only has to do with the FR extension beyond 20Hz. But then again, you did not answer why it is a good thing to extend the FR beyond 20kHz,
Opinions are not facts. Facts are that beyond a certain sampling rate and bit depth differences are no longer discernible in a blind test.
The universe gives a hoot about your opinion on gravity. If you jump off a high building you likely will die, no matter what you believe.
why is it that you are right and other people are wrong
Because I do no rely on friggin opinions regarding technical equipment, I rely on specs and results from blinded tests, including those I have done myself.
but audible differences are much a matter of opinion..
A fallacy that proves that sighted test do not work because build in bias.
Blinded test are the only reliable source of data when it come to testing.
Blinded test are not subject to bias, and therefore not subject to opinion, only subject to critique as to the methodology, execution and statistical evaluation.
Everybody can have an opinion about everything, which is worse-less in most cases, not being supported by data.
Why do you think I linked to the posts that especially in the case of Stanley P. Lipshitz and John Vanderkooyhave a solid understanding of the math, technology and principles behind their statements.
Many people on here don't realize that since I am a beginner
Unfortunately one that approaches the forum with opinions, apparently unwilling to replace those with facts and technical background information but persisting in beliefs informed by the usual voodoo forums.
Why should we waste our time to post information when all you counter with is with your "opinion"?
There is a vast difference between non informed opinion and informed critique. You are still far away from the latter and apparently unwilling to put in the effort.
If you want real good info, instead of audi nuttery forums check out hydrogen audio. But watch out for the TOS.
