Spent the weekend working on the back surface of the riser and the edge trim:
Finished applying the ⅛" plywood to riser surface:
Found some nice redwood boards at the "candy shop" (aka Almquist Lumber). They were "1x8" which means really ~ ¾ x 7 ¼. I ripped them in half and then attached an edge to hide the lights. Will add raceway channels to hold the rope lights (just arrived today!)
Spent Sunday doing some routing and staining. Used a round over on the "front" of the edging and a 45 degree on the other to make the carpet transition a little smoother. Used Rosewood stain on all.
I really like how this board turned out:
Here's how the raceway will lie:
I know this is nothing fancy compared to some of the amazing work done in these forums. But, again, I'm a noob. I've never done anything like this before and have been learning as I go. I was pretty pleased with the outcome so far even though it's pretty rudimentary.
