Radeon 2100 display problems with Windows 7

This is a cut/paste from my topic on the AMD forums. I'm sure you guys are much more knowledgeable than the regular users over there. I have bolded the main issues I am having. I would GREATLY appreciate any help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Graphics Card
-ATI Radeon 2100

AMD Catalyst Driver Version, and Driver History
-12.6 released 7-24-2012

Operating System
-Fresh install on formatted HDD of Windows 7 64 bit all current available updates

Issue Details
-Only my processor shows up in AMD VISION and I have no option to adjust the display

-I use my HTPC connected to a projector and have a thick black border around the image instead of filling the screen. in the past (in Vista) I had to use Catalyst Control Center to get the image to fill the screen.

-I also installed the Ceton Infinitv 4 cable card tuner and in the "Digital Cable Ready" test, my system fails due to not have hardware acceleration enabled.

Motherboard or System Make & Model
-Gigabyte GA-MA74GM-S2 with original BIOS - needs to be updated I'm sure

Power Supply
-Antec Earthwatts 500 watt PSU

Display Device(s) and Connection(s) Used
- Epson 6100
-DVI to HDMI to the receiver and HDMI from the receiver to the projector

Applications and Games
- Windows home screen and Windows Media Center

CPU Details
- AMD 4850e
- no overclocking

Motherboard BIOS Version
-Not sure. I can look when I get home.

System Memory Type & Amount
-2 gigs of something. Can't remember what brand. Not the issue.

Additional Hardware
-Sata II 80 GB boot, IDE 400 GB data, LG DVD burner, Ceton InfiniTV 4

Additional Details
-I can't access the Catalyst Control Center though I think the AMD Vision has replaced this. In AMD Vision, I can access the CPU but there is no display adapter (2100) to select.

In windows control panel, what do you see as video controller?

If the drivers are not properly installed, you would see something like "Generic video card" instead of Radeon 2100.

I am not even sure if Radeon 2100 will pass Digital Cable Advisor test. Maybe 3000, for sure 4000 passes.

I bought a cheap 610 nvidia card today that should work if I can't get the 2100 to work.

It does indeed show up as 2100 in the device manager. I used this motherboard/chipset in the past to watch recorded HD television like House and Lost in media center from another computer but I don't think I ever actually used the tuner card in this particular computer.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, blueiedgod smile.gif

Any other suggestions, anyone?

catalyst 12.6 dont support IGP RADEON 2100. It is false information on AMD support page. When you download it, there is no suitable driver for this card. Latest CCC, that I have found is working under win xp, and shoul work under win 7 too, are Catalyst 10.2 legacy.
