What is your score to the Aperion Zona Wireless. Are they really bad/good?

I want to buy stereo speakers to my AVR Zone-2, and wireless is tempting to me because I could easily move them around to the office, kitchen, living room, etc. However, when I read about the Aperion Zona Wireless (or basically almost any wireless speakers) the common consensus is that there is always a compromise in the sound quality.

I'd like to hear, from people who has experienced them, how much is really the loss in quality. How would you score them?

I don't consider myself an audiophile, but I hate (literally) to hear a bad quality sound coming out from any speaker, and I love a nice bass, ofc. My setup is a Dennon AVR1913 with Boston Acoustics Soundware XS 5.1 in my TV Room.

Are there other wireless speakers that can fit in? I'd assume powered can do better than battery, so I don't care as long as they have more than decent sound.

Hi there - since you haven't heard from any users of the Zona wireless speakers yet, I thought I'd respond. I work at Aperion and wanted to let you know that you can see unfiltered user and pro reviews of the Zona speaker system here:
http://www.aperionaudio.com/speakers/wireless-speakers/aperion-zona-reg-wireless-speaker-system

If you like bass, you should know that the Zona remote control lets you adjust treble and bass to your preference. Like all Aperion products, you can purchase and if for any reason you are not thrilled with the speakers within thirty days of receiving them and we'll even pay for the return shipping. If you have specific questions about the Zona wireless speakers just contact our home theater gurus either online or by phone. Thanks for considering Aperion - Ed de la Fuente

Thanks edfuent

Sure, I had already looked at the Aperion website. I agree the speakers look good there, but of course it is the company webpage so you would expect only nice and positive information. And I wouldn't expect anything different from you, being an employee of the company smile.gif. I do trust you, but I wanted to hear from some more "objective" day to day users, if you know what I mean. I was also hoping someone has used them along with a Denon AVR. On the other hand, I really appreciate your honesty. It does speak well about you and the company.

I acknowledge you guys have an amazing 30-days in-home trial period. The problem is that I live in Colombia so that wouldn't help much. As you understand buying from here there is always a risk. I need to be very confident before purchasing.

I appreciate your answer.

I have heard the Zonas. To be honest, I was expecting so-so quality sound because of the potential for RF interference and their surprisingly small size. That notion was quickly put aside after hearing them at my good buddy's house. (By the way, he wrote a review of them over on Audioholics.) The Zonas were the equal to many fine stand-mount speakers I've heard. It is not far off from the highly touted Ascend Sierra 1. It also seemed pretty flexible with the remote tone control. It can carry more bass weight than any other speaker I've heard in this size and class.

Pretty amazing speakers for the price, IMO.

Disclaimer: I don't own a pair of these Zonas, tho' I do own a pair of their Intimus 4B's and a Bravus 10D subwoofer (as well as Aerial Acoustics, ACI, JBL, Nates Audio, and SVS speakers and subs). I think Aperion offers really good quality for the price. These Zonas aren't going to squeeze out the very best detail, but they're pretty darn good and the wireless feature makes positioning them a breeze.

I hope this helps.
