This tv gets washed out rather quickly from side to side. Does anyone have a clue or an opinion of the tilting angle if mounted on wall? When setting on our couch the Sony Logo is at eye-level?
If you can tilt your wall-mount, then do as Imrizzo suggested.
I have a fixed flat wall-mount and always hang a TV so the center of the screen is at eye-level.
No it's going back. Wasn't a big enough improvement to my d6000. The Sony 850 was though :-/
I was in our local ABC Warehouse Sunday and we were talking about the 850 and I mentioned they were out of that model. Salesman said I'm pretty sure we have them in stock and he came back and told me he has 2 in back.
Sony changed my ship date to today and they didn't even ship it.. Meanwhile, I'm updating my inbox every hour checking to see if I got that "your order has shipped" email. I'm pretty sure I looked like the forever alone meme every time I checked the inbox and had no email from Sony.
Good one. I'm the same way when I got up at 5 am this morning I checked the status of my order...hurry up already

This TV is so worth the wait for anyone into serious movie watching and 3D (just remember to get the PS3 glasses that already have the polarizing filters built in). Pop in Skyfall in Cinema 2 mode to see pure bliss immediately. Afterwards you can then tinker with settings but Skyfall is stunning on bluray.
Thanks cmay I'll get Skyfall when I pickup the tv. I have a few 3D glasses already. A couple pairs that came with my VW90ES pj and a couple pairs of Optoma same as the Monster glasses. Maybe I should get a few pairs of the PS3 glasses. I'll see if my local BB has them. Anticipation...

It is worth the wait, but why wait is the question ?
I've been checking order status hourly. Not shipped yet. I'm having mine shipped to the store. Hopefully the box will slide in the back of my vehicle without laying flat.
The forces of nature are conspiring against me. I was supposed to get mine on Monday but a blizzard must have delayed it somewhere. I’m also clicking my tracking info hourly.

I still have my box for my XBR-55HX950 and the measurements are:
34/3/8 X 66/1/2 I measured it just for you...
Love the TV and being a lurker here trying to learn settings and in a few months have the TV calibrated. I'm running a Sony STR-DA5400ES along with DT Mythos STS speakers up front. Produces great sound but looking at the STR-DA5800ES or Yamaha RX-3020. I would like to stay Sony so it's easier with remotes; one button does all or makes things easier.

IMRIZZO and boxsterdude thanks for that I should be able to make it happen...I'm kind of hoping it will be in Friday. Fingers crossed

I should have added in a worst case you will have to take it out of the box. Prop it up against the back seat if you are bringing a car. A Van or truck will do a better/easier job.......

The good thing is, unlike the 65" the stand is not mounted, and an SUV /van or truck ( as noted by Chris) would be the veh of choice

I would have thought that in case you did have to take it out of the box and prop it up per Cleveland Plasma's suggestion, having the stand mounted already would actually make it easier to transport upright as all you would need to do is secure it from sliding and cushion the front and back, where as without the stand, you would need to worry about it tipping over more so than without the stand.

Personally I would (if you put it in the back seat) put it upside down, so as not to stress the stand during transport (rocking may weaken the integrity of the stand mountings). Again that is my personal opinion and I would suggest the use of bed pillows as a buffer.

Didn't think of that in regards to excess stress on the stand.
I'd just try to avoid transporting in a car altogether and borrow or rent if you had to an SUV or van to ensure the box can be upright during transportation.
Does anyone have a Darbee Darblet hooked up to their HX950?
If so, what major improvements do you see?
I have been contemplating getting one of those, but spoke to someone who ordered it for use with his plasma and wasn't that impressed with it's results ?? I may try getting one from Amazon so I can return it if necessary with no hassle.
