any recommendations for ISF calibrators in the DC/Maryland/VA area that have experience with this particular set?

any other things to do once the TV arrives? dead pixel test etc...?

Took delivery of the set today. I have to say i night and day difference over the Samsung 6000 series it replaced; my wife even complemented how great the picture is.

So far I'm fine tuning the settings for my comcast input that's coming through component (for some reason the comcast cablebox hdmi isn't being recognized) Palladia HD is amazing, watched Taylor Swift and Alicia Keys is coming through vividly and amazing!

I went out and purchased skyfall and waiting for my Disney WOW discs to arrive so I can fine tune my PS3 connection.

So far I can't see any pixel issues or banding.

Manufacture date on the back is Oct. 2012.

So far:

Enabled 1:1 pixel mapping
CineMotion enabled to Auto 1
LED Dynamic Control set to Standard
Motionflow Off
Color Temperature Neutral

Thats about it for now....

I confirm that for PC Gaming ! I play Battlefield 3 (online), Fifa 13 (online), Assassin's Creed III, Ace Combat Assault Horizon, Hitman Absolution, Dead Space 3... and much more without input lag but game mode don't use Full LED. You will see a very very ligth clouding if you use this scene mode. You can play with normal mode Full LED without clouding but you had little input lag. You choice but this set is very good for gamers wink.gif

Hi All,

Does anyone own a Harmony remote? If so, what model, and do you know if it works with the hx950. Will it allow me to change settings on the Sony as well?

Thanks in advance.

I'm actually leaning towards a harmony one. Do you think that model will work with the sony's settings?

Just a note, many do not know this..........

Keep in mind if you have a smart phone or tablet many of these top end universal remote manufacturers have apps to turn your unit into a universal remote. Yes, there is a app for that wink.gif

I bought my XBR3 sight unseen. Been flawless since. I just bought a 950 65" sight unseen for 5k. No worries. I buy all my cars and trucks the same way and spend much more on them and haven't been disappointed yet. Same with boats, RVs, etc. Never had an issue or buyers remorse once.1.gif

Men,

Thanks for the info, very helpfull. I currently don't have either option at the moment (smart phone, tablet). So, I'm still interested in knowing if other harmony's work for settings (more than just turning on/off) the 950. Also which models wouldn't work. I would like to change settings with actual buttons if possible. I'm kinda old school smile.gif.

My GUESS would be the Harmony One should work. That was my remote b4 upgrading to the 1100. The Harmony One is just the step down from the 1100. That's the touch model, right?

I believe you can teach it to access the Menu and then do as you wish. It just take patience when programing it on your computer. To get mine fully operational the way I wanted it took a few hours (trial & error). I still tweak it every once in a while when I want to add or change functions.

Thanks, afaik, there are 2 generations of the harmony one, then the touch, then the 1100. I am doing some research, and it's taking time.

Check E-Bay the 1100 is relatively inexpensive there and from many hi quality sellers.(that's where I got mine.)

With the 1100, will I have to constantly be looking back and forth between the tv and the remote to change settings. I would like to be able to just watch the tv as I adjust settings. Thanks for the link, I'm now looking on e-bay too.

Just a few pictures of my setup

Browning... What mount are you using... If you can or are inclined, I would like a pic of he back to see how it is mounted and tilts (does it swivel?).. Nice display...
T.
Stand tilts, angles and rotates. I purchased around 6 years ago I believe from standsandmounts from out of Texas. They have real good pricing that mount was just over $100 at the time. I went ceiling mount so I could slide 3 RF7IIs under the tv. Then my 110" AT screen drops in front of the whole system. I cannot remember the name when the wife comes home I will ask her where the papers are and post. Just had them out last weekend. Heres a few photos. It may have been this company http://mountsandmore.net/index.html
You could email them to see if they are located in Texas. They have a ceiling mount Sanus but it is a little different than my mount. They may have changed the design. Mines a Sanus also.

BrowningG nice set up, now a little wire management and your done. Very nice.
Thanks IMRIZZO, Yeah I have the plastic tie straps/brackets. I just replaced all the HDMI with the new Redmere HDMI from Monoprice. I like the new Redmere cable. So I have to organize before I slide my towers in place.
The shots of the mount very nice... I see there is a drop down screen as well... very, very nice. Thanks for letting us into the behind the scenes... I might be using a similar setup soon... Always looking for ways to use a window properly -ventillation! lol

I have lots of them for ventillation too. I was just about to replace the display and deal with the windows (always wanted motorized shades, but can't imagine the cost. Now it seems we are potentially moving.. So, all charges and changes are on hold until further notice...

Thanks tbaudoin, your more than welcome. The company from where I purchased the ceiling mount is probably right down the road from you. I see you have the window problem also. I would imagine you could use a extension to drop down lower since you have higher ceilings. Nice setup. One of these days I want to move everything downstairs for a "man cave" setup.
Me too, I just need a downstairs or a different house. Maybe all of it will happen this year..

I just helped my son redo his system with all Redmere cabling, I like their quality and flexibility. I will be doing mine soon (just to lazy now, lol @69yo I'm slowing down).
Don't blame you at slowing down. I'm only 50 and don't like messing with my system like in my younger days. Kind of hard to read everything...eyes get tired and blurry in a hurry smile.gif
