So I can watch two football games (NFL Sunday Ticket) at the same time, or any sporting event on the 2nd screen while watching movies etc. on the main display.

How do I access the Ambient Sensor option? I don't see it anywhere in the picture settings. What am I missing here?

Isn't that somewhat distracting ? when watching with one panel on.

As Steve and Rizzo have cautioned above, it is very risky for anyone who is not a knowledgeable technician to be accessing the service menu.

If you want basic diagnostic info (such as panel hours), you can always bring up the self-check screen; you can't do any damage there since it does not allow for user input.

SELF-CHECK MODE: DISPLAY ---> 5 ---> VOLUME DOWN ---> POWER (same as service menu code but substituting vol down for vol up)

I'm no technician and I was able to adjust the overscan of my 34XBR800 years ago with the service menu.

A preponderance of caution is fine. But I say give fair warning and let that be that.

Just like jailbreaking an iPhone, if you brick it, it's your own damn fault for assuming the risk.
That's my humble opinion.

Okay, I finally made it in. smile.gif

My IR repeater was the problem. I don't have any emitters on the TV, but theres's one on the front of my X1 cable box that was throwing the sequence off.

This is what I found:

The bottom left 5 numbers are the hours

Next 5 are boot count

and last 5 are the lcd panel hours.

That's right. To be more specific:

Operating Hours (max 65535) - Boot Count (max 65535) - Panel Hours (max 65535)

Oh wow guys, this is CRAZY. Probably worth it for everyone to read.

For a few days I've been scratching my head trying to figure out why my new slim model PS3 was making my 65HX950's screen FLASH with bright white/rainbow noise on HDMI whenever I launched a BluRay movie or game, or exited out to the XMB from said movie or game. I suspected handshaking issues, I tried new cables, removing my receiver, different HDMI inputs, nothing worked until I started messing with the the Picture settings on the TV. I tried modifying EVERY setting imaginable with no difference, until I stumbled upon this little insanity.

This MUST be a firmware bug of some sort: When the Brightness setting is 52 or higher, I get the very annoying bright white/rainbow screen flash when launching or quitting movies and games. When the Brightness setting is 51 or lower, everything is fine, pure black bliss at the transition! WOW!

This is the weirdest "bug" I've ever encountered on any TV. I hope it helps someone. If anyone can offer an explanation, I'd love to hear it. I'm on the latest firmware.

In what relation is this to Sony 950 ? This is a Samsung not Sony ??

Having seen the W900A in person playing Sony's 4K media, you have to get very close, like inches to see a benefit.

Compared to the inky blacks of my 950. I wouldn't have waited for triluminous.

Then there's the ugly speakers you cannot detach.

Agreed.. Now, I frequently can't wait to get home to watch TV. Mounting it tomorrow.. Kids have already been banished to the basement... The picture on this TV is incredible..
