What kind of connectors do the speaker wires have? If they are non-proprietary (bare wire for example) then just about any kind of receiver would work as long as the ohm rating is matched. You don't want 4 ohm speakers powered by an 8 ohm only receiver.

According to the specs they are 4 ohm speakers. They only have a single 3" driver and the subwoofer is passive so you'd be better off getting something else anyways.

Loudspeakers
Satellite speaker drivers: 3" full range woofer
Satellite speaker impedance: 4 ohm
Satellite speaker freq range: 150-20000 Hz
Center speaker drivers: 3" full range woofer
Center speaker impedance: 4 ohm
Center freq range: 150-20000 Hz
Subwoofer driver: 6.5" high efficiency woofer
Subwoofer impedance: 4 ohm
Subwoofer freq range: 40-150 Hz
Subwoofer type: Passive

thanks for the reply guys. can u guys give me a good set up. i really dont care about any new advance receivers or anything like that, all i only need is a descent surround sound of course better what what im using now.lol.
i only use it for my 55" HDTV 3D, PS3 gaming and watching bluray movies and lastly for my cable box DTV DVR. my only budget is $600 for both descent receiver and speakers. i only live in apartment so same size of speakers what i have now is my preferable sizes or a lil bigger is ok. any recommendations guys? thanks.

You need a denon 1612, it has hdmi and room correction. For speakers get the jamo s 426 and a sub from parts express the small Dayton the 100$ one. That put you to $500. Should be a grat sounding system

yea that would be good but the Jamo will be better than the Take Classics. You can save some money and get a refurb Denon 1612 from AC4less for about a hundred less.
