The two different chains that still show the same thing are:

REW--->3.5mm out to RCA in on marantz 8801-->fp14k (or DCX--->fp14k but still the same response)

Omnimic disk on Denon 1611-ud-->same chain as above

They are both almost the same measurement, with the RS SPL meter, the CSL calibrated UMM-6 and the newly calibrated omnimic

I think it soundcard issues, the laptop is an older than dirt HP laptop

I just keep on showing builds/pictures of stuff like this to my wife to prepare her for the day when we eventually get a house (we're both working hard going back to school). She knows what's going to happen and seems like she doesn't care but it doesn't hurt to prepare her. That's the great thing about my wife is that when we were younger (back in 2001 before we got married) she bought my truck off of me which was an extended cab dodge Dakota with a full blown stereo that had 3 JL Audio 10W6 subs (the original ones) that pounded you in the back. She likes this stuff and is a bass head just like me. I recently finished my HT sub build and have only watched about 4 movies so far. Last night we watched sinister and we both loved the impact that the subs brought to the movie which added to the realism of what was going on and cause us to jump out of our seats a lot more than before. In the middle of the movie we took a break to make popcorn and she commented on how great the theater sounded! I told her that she hasn't heard anything yet and just wait until we get out of our condo and I can work on putting together a REAL theater.

Just keep on telling your other half that no matter how crazy you may sound there's always someone crazier out there...

Austin, I can't wait to see your build on all those subs!!!

Austin, do you think that you'll be done with these subs by late August? I live in New Jersey and go down to Mooresville, NC (ironically, where SI is located) to visit my sister and her kids every year. I would absolutely love to stop by for a short listen (maybe only an hour or so as it's a 9 hour drive). I usually take the PA turnpike and then take 81 all the way down but I've also gone through Washington but don't like that route as I usually get stuck in traffic. If I go the Washington route you're literally only 5-10 miles out of the way and would make for an awesome pit stop! I could also show my wife what she'd be in for! I'm not sure if our timing would coincide but it be great if it did!

You and anyone one else from the AVS congregation are welcome to stop by for a demo anytime...

Still got a lot of dialing in to do. I also will have a miniDSP 4 x 10HD on the way next week to assist with additional tweakage.

Impressions thus far... Subjectively, the midbass is borderline retarded. However, I can already tell it's going to take more measuring and tweaking to get the ULF awesomeness that floats my boat. Just from listening to about 30min of music and sitting through a random movie, I feel like I enjoyed the low-end impact of the LMS-U's better....

I'm confident I will be able to reach goals with the SI's though. For sure.

Your front wall is completely doing it for me. I love seeing drivers - and that's all you see, beautiful man. Speaking of that, the look of these drivers has grown on me a lot which is good I don't think I could get a grill on them without a quadruple friggin baffle with that huge surround.

Chances are without eq you've got a large midbass hump going on. The minidsp should do the trick and allow you to cut some of that out as well as add some trims to the bottom end.

Now you've got to build new mains to being the horns down to ear level.

Yeah man, I already have the SMS-1 and it was able to do a little bit for me, but I'm really hoping the miniDSP will put me right where I want to to be. Fingers crossed.

Build new mains... Killing me smalls...lol. Maybe next year or something. I'm still only 50% done with my subs and you know how the wifey is man. Let's say it's been a trying few months just to get to this point...

Joey's already got my SEOS baffles and drivers delivered. Just waiting on the AE drivers to ship and the SEOS Tower build will be under way. Mains needed before any new subs.

I'm interested in the minidsp myself. If Trinnov doesn't help much, I'll be grabbing one. Supposedly the Minidsp won't help much down low either (under 20hz).

Minidsp can easily eq down to 10hz. With some creativity, you can get below that.

End tables are done and rattle free. First speaker build of my life and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I'll be making a thread soon to cover the build and lingering questions/optimizations.
