I have a feeling this is only the beginning of the irresponsibility in store for me.

That my friend, is hilarious. That is why Ive always preached, protect your drivers by sealing them up. They all too easily can bump back plates if left out in the open.

so while taking out the garbage i had a brain fart. i currently have an ed a7s-450 with the lt 1300 amp in it. i was thinking about dropping an si 18 d2 in it, but now i was thinking of getting 2 si 18 d4 and buying one of erichs 4.5 cuft flat pack. dump one of the SI d4 in the ed sub and run wires out of the ed sub right to the other sub. both drivers would be in in roughly the same size box and both would get approx 650 watts. it would cost me around 550$ in parts. what do you guys think?

Or you could wait for the DO flat pack and go that route.

Have my two boxes finished for my SI 18's. Still need to build a new box for the Mal-X 18". Need to rework the 3" sound panels behind the screen so that the subs will be about flush with my curved screen.

External 40" x 23" x 12"
4.25 CF after all deductions. Powering them off of a bridged Nady XA-2100. The big ugly box that you see in the edges of the picture is my Mal-X box. It used to be a ported sub box that I stuck a new baffle onto and installed the Mal-X. Box was in the back of the room, aimed into the corner, so you could not see the ugly baffle. With new seating coming, I had to rework some things. Max-X will be placeed in a 48" x 23" x 12" box, right between the SI 18's.

Not integrated into the room yet. Just got them finished and connected to the amps late last night. I also switched what amps are powering what sub, so my levels are not even set correctly for any of my subs. I am running all four of my pro amps in 4 ohm bridged mode.

Nady XA-2100 for the SI 18's
Nady XA-1100 for TC Sounds
XA-1100 for 2nd TC Sounds
Behringer EPH2000 for Mal-X

Have a couple Behringer MIC 2200's for PEQ. I will provide some cut so that I can raise the level and get more low end. Also will use XT32 with subEQ. Since I also have a Behringer CX2310 crossover, I may try out the SI's as flanking subs, letting them run on up to 200hz. paired with my mains. So I can see if i notice a difference using Wayne's flanking sub approach. Not sure that will offer a big improvement since my speakers are against the wall, not out into the room.

Son's birthday today and he has a basketball game, so nothing happening with the subs tonight.

I'm gonna do the same. I was gonna use duratex initially and I like how it looks but since everything is hidden behind screen I'll go the easier route. Did you prime first?

Yes, I flush route the edges of the panels if they are not perfectly smooth. Then sand with 100 grit, 180 grit and 220 grit.. Prime, sand with 220 and then two coats of finish.

Did something happen to your cap driver? From an upgrade perspective, I would think the Cap driver would be a bit more potent than the SI driver.

Hmmm..... I know at least +50 of these drivers got shipped out to people just in the past two weeks...... nearly all of those were to AVS DIY members. It's awfully quiet in here.

Looking rather suspicious around here. Mhmm. Yup.

Yup. I'll be cutting baffles out on mine tomorrow and finishing the bracing. I plan on having everything ready for test fit by the weekend. Only parts I'm waiting on is the Duratex.

nothing is glued in place, just trying to get some feedback. It's 1/2” ply spaced 7” apart. I could make them window braces or use a hole saw. Then was thinking of dowels or some kind of wood to connect the braces together vertically and from the top brace to the top of the box.

Hey guys, been out of the game and havent been posting regularly on the forums for about a year now due to some medical bills cramping my desire to read about hobbies. Anyways, I had a long standing goal that i wanted to do a DIY project with a minimum of 2x 15 or 18" drivers powered by a single EP4000 amp to serve as an upgrade over my HSU VTF-15H.

Do you guys think these subs would do the trick? I want to have 2 seperate actual subwoofers, 1x driver per, prefferably in the smallest box possible as i have space/placement limitations (NO WAF, just a very narrow theater room (11' wide x 20' long).
