hi i got a great deal on an open box no remote/manual bdp-140 with a full warranty and 30 day return for $47. i figured i couldnt go to wrong with the purchase. so far it works pretty well on the DVDs that it wants to play....the only control on the face of the player is power,open/eject,stop and play. so dvds like tomb raider and the mummy will play, dvd cutthroat island will not play once you get to the title menu and BD dancing with wolves wont play once it gets to the main menu.
i have downloaded the manual and read it.
so i understand that the higher level functions I cant use with out the factory remote which looks like it will cost $39 on line. but why is that some dvds will play at the main menu and some dont? i actually see the little red circle with a bar in it dispalyed on the screen for the DVD or BD that doesnt play.
am I missing something? and what is the lest expensive way to get remote that will work? i have tried programming my comcrap infintity remote to pioneer codes and it doesn work.
