Taking a lead from post #2 (http://www.avsforum.com/t/1430470/cant-get-rcs-comcasts-dark-grey-ok-button-red-to-function-with-panasonic-50v10):

"Assuming you're using TV setup code 10650,

Press TV,
Hold Setup until 2 blinks
Enter 994
Tap Setup
Enter 24885
Press OK/Select
2 blinks for success"

This would be the protocol for setting various TV functions using the Comcast RC (platinum red button). I have already set my Yamaha's functions on the RC using the AUX mode button. So, that means that I now can control the TV, Yammy and SA8300hd from the RC. Is it now possible to also set functions for a fourth unit, my Panasonic BD-85 blue-ray player? I would think that if I can, that I would somehow have to use the "shift" key, but I need to know the protocol. Like:

What bd-85 set up code should I use?
And then what number do I enter after the two blink on setup hold?

Actually thinking of using these codes from here (http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/lookup/)???

Sort of. First, the best code for panny blu-ray is 20490 (the 85 uses device 176 only and subdevices 0 and 1, so panny mix isn't the best fit). What you can do is temporarily assign the blu-ray code to AUX, test to make sure it works, then key copy play, pause, and any other functions you want onto the play set of buttons in TV mode since those are unused anyway, then change aux back to your yamaha code when you're done. The new keys will keep the original panny blu-ray code in TV mode. You may want to key copy power onto REC so you don't mess up your TV power. I don't think you can do much with the power button anyway.

Those are the highlights, and there are a few other ways to do it. But give it a try, and if you need any more detail, post back.

I'll give it a try, I think. I'm going to have to sit down and digest all this first...

EDIT:
OK, I've tried digesting your instructions and before i start, I'd like to make sure that I understand the process. So, let me put down what I think needs to be done and then you can correct me...

1. Do setup code 20490 on AUX
2. Press AUX,
Hold Setup until 2 blinks
Enter 994.............................Or is it a different code for the BD85?
Tap Setup
Enter 24885..........................Enter the BD85 code for Pause
Press OK/Select....................Press Pause button on RC
2 blinks for success"

Now I'm somewhat confused as what to do next.

Let's assume that while in test AUX, the Pause function button works on the BD85, I really don't understand what you mean by "key copy..." And, am I to key copy to while still in AUX or do I go into TV mode? When I want to use the BD85, I go into the TV mode and use the BD85 programmed buttons...yes? And, if I were to assume that the test coding worked, would it be possible to directly enter codes into the TV mode by pressing TV, entering 994 (or whatever is the correct code), and then the function codes and their designated buttons? In other words, is it possible to skip the test part?

As you can see, I am thoroughly confused.
