Welcome to the team below lol !! Thanks to some words of advice from AVS members and the local audio store going above and beyond to get me one to have over the holiday.

A Integra 80.3

Photobucket

Here is a size comparison to my old processor and new 80.3 and of course the equipment rack is pulled apart behind while I make changes.

I still have to get it all setup on the shelf and room correction etc this weekend but right off the bat the build quality of this thing is very impressive and with no room correction was noticeably different in sound but that could just be me wink.gif. I am really looking forward to using audyssey Xt 32 to see how it responds and calibrates all the speakers and 2 subwoofers.

Well I spent most of the day setting the Integra 80.3 up and my thoughts are this was a very good purchase. First it responds so much faster than my previous unit with powering up, HDMI locking and commands from my Harmony remote and the room correction in my opinion is several steps above my other processor. I originally setup Audyssey for 3 positions and didn't realize until well after that the subwoofer's were way off the charts volume wise -15 so I started the process again after doing some more reading and gain matching again and I did the full room correction for 8 positions and everything turned out to my liking -3.0 on both subs. There are still a few items that need to be addressed but minor so its really putting through its paces time with music and movies over the next few days.

I am on the fence and just not sure about these new power cables I picked up so maybe switching back to the originals and maybe I can hear the difference.

Well!!! I am up for another round of upgrades.First the equipment above is getting a new and sturdier home as it can not support my current items plus a few not seen like the PS3 ,turntable and additional future amp for the Crowson Transducers I will be adding to supplement the low end.

Thanks to bad influences they know who they are smile.gif I am adding the Crowsons and (2) theater seats (which we have been demoing at some stores recently) and retiring the old love seat.

I'm excited to see your upgrades! Yes...the Crowsons are calling thy name! What rack are you considering???

Very nice setup. Great job on the GIK treatments. I use them also. You will love the Crowsons when you get them. It will really take your movie watching experience to another level. What seats are you getting? Good job on the 80.3 as well. I have the 80.2 and really like it. It was a huge upgrade from my last processor and the XT32 really makes a big difference.

Thanks Man!! I get my ideas from hanging out here with all you guys.

I can't wait to try the crowson's its the next big thing for me.Got the A/V racks narrowed down to RTA or Walker Edison in Black Glass just making that final decision now as both are very nice and will get the job done. My equipment offerings are numerous now getting increasingly heavier so its time.

Thank you !! The GIK's were the best investment I have made so far into this hobby dollars to performance!! I can't wait for the crowson's but its funny after I made the decision to do those my better half says what about the seats??so I say OK for seats as well lol!!! The seats are narrowed down too Berklines on the high end or Lanes a bit lower but the next 2 to 3 weeks should be fun. I love my 80.3 for its reliable build quality and feature set plus audyssey really help tame my dual subwoofer's and woke up the surrounds in my room.Looking back at the Integra's history they don't seem to change very much.

I noticed both you and Brolic have variation of the Crowson and how you incorporate them up so my crossroad is amplification/control combo or go with letting the oppo control everything to amp of my choosing???
I think you will end up with a dual control system. For instance, on my amp I use the crossover setting and the level setting and the settings inside the OPPO are good for bass management. For a more detailed explanation you will want to check out the system thread of CraigJohn. He details it pretty well and you might even try sending him a PM for more details.

Yes I agree with you !!! My main concern was making them not feel to overwhelming and gimmicky !!! I have been reading so many articles on the board but I may follow your advice and PM Craig for more details to aid in my decision.

Recently I added a Integra 80.3 to my system and its been a excellent addition but because of its size/weight my equipment rack seemed unstable and I cant possibly have all these nice item's crashing to the ground so I invested in better A/V shelf.

The original first

The new shelving from Walker Edison !!!

I was able to get additional shelf and can add more if necessary for the PS3 but for now I am using it for my turntable but plan to upgrade that maybe next year but its main purpose is for the additional amp for the transducers when they arrive. I will spend sometime this weekend adding a few new cables a quiet fan that I had already just for additional cooling and some wire management.

The (2) theater seats are being delivered within the next 2 weeks or so hopefully!!!!

If you set them up right, they won't feel like a gimmick thing at all. Did you say what theater seats you are getting?

Thanks Mike but I have to many of you guys around here using various designs of transducers/buttkickers so there is plenty good resources if I hit a bad spot while implementing them. I tell you what I decided to run Wrath of the Titans over the weekend since its been sitting around for awhile on the shelf and its gotten chatter on its ULF and although the film was OK and my subs gave me what I was expecting we wondered what the crowson's would have added!! we will find out soon.

I decided to go with Lane Blitz seats and hopefully they will be arriving in the coming days and the crowson's following as they all almost caught up from back orders.

Update the 2 chairs I originally wanted were on back order so I went with these Albany's instead. They are actually pretty comfortable and the brown is a nice change from the black I already have a abundance of in the room from equipment etc. I think once I eventually move everything to the bigger room and add some nicer paint colors it will be that much better.

Next up Crowson's and the Amp!!! but the next few weeks will be a busy at work so I may have to wait to install ,set them up and enjoy once they arrive!!biggrin.gif

Looking good!!! That is a nice color and the leather looks to be of high quality. Adding the transducers will be the icing on the cake.

Thank you !! I think you know where I get some of my A/V inspiration from lol!!!

Here is one more view below!!! We watched M.I. Ghost Protocol today for the 2nd time after I ran audyssey again and it was much nicer being able to kick our feet up so once the transducers are in adding the icing I am on to the next items Bigger Screen ,Bigger Room biggrin.gif

I wish lol!!!! Got called out of town on business for a few days so everything is just waiting for my return but before leaving I did another count on the motion isolators and need a few more to make things right on the chairs.

I understand totally. I ordered 15 of them for my 3 chairs and I only have 4 going unused.

Looking forward to your thoughts once you have some time with them. But again, as I said before, I think I know what kind of reaction you will have. eek.gifeek.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.giftongue.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifeek.gifeek.gifeek.gifsmile.gifbiggrin.gif

Mike I am surely offering a little of my opinion on these and your right the reaction will be positive smile.gif . I am in the process of doing something a little different from the setups I seen so far after going back and forth a bit with Crowson on there opinion.

Stay Tuned!!!

I'd love to hear what you think about the Crowsons as well once you get them installed and dailed in.

The new seats look awesome!

I will be interested in what Crowson tells you and how you have them ultimately connected.
