Axiom speakers and Marantz amplifiers

I currently own an Axiom pair of M60’s tower speakers, Axiom QS4 surround speakers and Axiom VP 150 center channel. I am considering ordering a Marantz MM7055 5-Channel Power Amplifier and Marantz’s AV7005 preamp/Processor ($2,700 for the combo). Is this a good choice for my Axiom home theater speakers? Is it good for audio listening? Is the Marantz MM7055 5-Channel Power Amplifier powerful enough to move the M60’s?
I also have the choice of buying a used Creston CNAMPX-7X200 amplifier ($1,500). Is this a better choice than the Marantz combo?
My budget is around $2,700 for amp and preamp in case of better suggestions. Please advice, thanks
Alfonso

The Marantz will power the Axiom stuff just fine. Shouldn't have any issues.

$2700 for the combo is kind of steep, but I guess it depends if you want brand-new or not. Accessories4less.com has two refurbished AV7005's, one for $999 and one for $1099. A while back they had the MM7055 amplifier for $799 refurbished, which I bought. Brand new the MM7055 is $1200, so that plus a refurb AV7005 would cost you ~ 2200-2300.

Alternatively, depending on how you feel about ID brands, an Emotiva XPA-5 would be $899.

I run the same Marantz Preamp and amp you are considering on less efficient speakers, and the combo works great.
