'Course, Sony players also had the audio issue too... which means Sony was blaming Sony no matter who you call about the problem! smile.gif

I ended up ordering the 4k transfer from Amazon US because I was sick of the lack of response from both Sony Electronics & Sony Pictures. It arrived just 2 nights ago. When I played the movie on my Sony BDP-S790 Blu-ray player, the image kept on breaking up rendering the movie totally unwatchable! Concerned I had another dud disc from Sony, I then played it on my Samsung BD-E5500 and it played perfectly, so then to be sure, I went in to the spare room and popped it in my old trusty Pioneer BDP-51FD Blu-ray player and it also played the movie perfectly, the image was beautifully crisp and jaw-dropping! So my question is this.... Sony, what the hell is going on when Sony movies won't play properly in Sony Blu-ray players?confused.gif

Now you have me sitting on the fence. Don't want to put out that kind of money for a supposed improvement, to buy a non-extended version, only to find the 790 won't play it. But then is it just your 790, or, all the 790s? Will my OPPO 93 now play it correctly since it also had the original dropout issue as well, and they've had no FW updates in a while. May wait for a Lighting Deal where I can get a 1 day super low price on it.

Maybe Sony reads these posts and will PM us about replacement DVDs?

Read my following Posting - will Sony do BDP-S790 Hardware Updates?

Played the whole Total Recall 2012 Without a Dropout, nor Video Problems!

After a Factory Default Reset to get rid of the 4K Upconversion for a Seiki 4K I had at the time, I'm back to the Fraction of a Second dropouts in Scene 9.

New Sony FW Updates Oct 2, 2013 - will have to retry the Total Recall and see if there's been any improvement over the last FW Update.

Tested:
Audio MUCH improved!
TR - still has the dropouts.

It has definitely improved the 4k remaster of Total Recall! I no longer need to set my Sony BDP-S790 player to RGB, it is now set to YCbCr 4:4:4 as it should be......smile.gif
