I'm very much looking forward to reading reviews of the RS46 as well as the new Panasonic 8000. I'd actually resigned myself to waiting at least another year before upgrading my PJ as it seems the newer Panasonics would be a major step down in ways (especially repelled by the reported dynamic contrast shenanigans that have the iris visibly pulsing brightness from shot to shot, which never happened with the 2000, not to mention reports of the 7000 being softer and having issues with hot spots at the corners) and the JVCs would deliver sub-par 3D imagery with the added bonus of bulbs that barely last before degrading. the RS46 has apparently addressed the bulb issue, so if reviews find that the new machines have significantly improved 3D performance over last year's models, I may go for it.
In the meantime, I've been looking at 3D flat panel options for my other room to tide me over in case I end up waiting a year or more to upgrade the PJ (it's definitely a case of one or the other, not both).
