So I set up this whole HTPC system that doubles as an office computer. Everything was great till the WAF changed her mind and now wants a different setup. So everything is pretty much in place except one problem. The physical HTPC which has an IR reciever to power it on has moved to a different room. I would like the harmony link to continue to be able to turn on the HTPC but the IR miniblasters are not long enough to make the trip 20 - 25 feet through the walls and to the new location for the computer. So the question is, can I just buy some 2.5 mm extension cables to extend one of the mini blasters that far? Or will there not be enough power / too much resistance to pull that off? Will I be forced to set up some sort of IR repeater?
