I purchased a program a few months ago to rip my blurays to MKV for playback using my WDTV Live Hub.

The program was Pavtube bytecopy and has been fairly reliable at creating the MKVs with no real playback issues.

The only issue I have come across is when using VLC to preview the ripped movies on my computer and checking under the Media Codec information, it is showing the movie's frame rate at 47.952047 Hz. The original source movie is a 24p video and all movies I have ripped from bluray have come in this way. This is double the 23.976 Hz frame rate expected from a 1080/24p bluray. The Codec information is the showing the Decoded format as Planar 4:2:0 YUV.

My WDTV and Anthem D2V are having a hard time and applying further conversion to the videos. Auto output from the WDTV yields the Anthem D2V to believe there is a 1080p/50 video input and the video is processed incorrectly.

Has anyone tried this software or had a similar experience where the frame rate is not proper? I am extracting the blurays in a lossless format and not encoding the audio or video resulting in ~30 GB file sizes and taking 45 minutes to 60 minutes to transfer a disc to hard drive.

I am up for suggestions to try a different encoding method that is free to see how that compares, but I already sunk money into this program and after two attempts to contact them, have had no responses.

As easy as hte program is to use, the customer service is a good reason never to use it.

I have attached a screen shot from VLC showing the Codec information.
