Blah. You use a mouse??

I have a hardwired network in my house, and can access any of my machines from any other machine with GB Ethernet speeds.

I use either my Sony tablet S or my laptop w/build-in IR blaster instead of a mouse/keyboard, which lets me fully control my HTPCs and A/V equipment.

Why, is it against the rules?

No. Universal remote with only directional arrows and OK is just more streamlined and layman approved

Look, I don't care about layman approval and universal remote, been there, done that. My current modus operandi serves me much better

You're assuming that the Echo will be transcoding rather than just playing the files directly. Have they said that?
