Hi all,
I'm looking around for a very inexpensive TV for a shared apartment.
Here are my only requirements:
- 40" or larger
- 1080p
- at least 2 HDMI inputs
- at least 1 digital audio output (coax or optical is fine)
- Price: $300ish for a 40-42", $350-$400 for a 46"+
Plasma doesn't quite seem possible in this price range, but some low end LCD's do. For example, there are plenty of generic name 40" LCD's in the $300-$350 range.
Of these lesser brand names, which do you think would be best for both image quality ( a nice samsung panel, for example ), and reliability?
"Known" lower end brands
Vizio
RCA
Toshiba
JVC
Phillips
Magnavox
Westinghouse
Really offbrand:
Insignia
TCL
Sanyo
Sceptre
Element
Hanspree
Coby
Emerson
I'd obviously bite for a higher end brand like Samsung, LG, Pioneer, or Panasonic, but I don't think I can find what I want in that price range.
For example, I've heard that some TCL's use Samsung panels, which could be an interesting option.
