I have a BDP-95 and I also have some British PAL standard dvd's. On ebay there are some DIY multi-code region free upgrade hardware to make the BDP-95 region free.
and I'm wondering if anybody has tried this option. Please give me your feedback on what your results were using this upgrade. Will using it cause any problems with blu-ray playback. Your prompt replies will be appreciated.

Note that there is a free software mod for region-free DVD playback:http://www.multi-region.net/oppo_bdp-83

You need a hardware mod only for region-free Blu-ray.

I have that one and it died with the most recent firmware upgrade to the 95.

^ Typically that just means you need to apply a matching firmware update to the Region Free mod kit. Check with the manufacturer of that kit and also in the 93 and 95 threads here.
