Mitsubishi WD-92840: USB Wireless Adapter Question

Hey guys,

Does anyone with an 840 series or 740 series of these TV's know if you HAVE to use Mitsubishi's wireless USB adapter; or if I can order one off Ebay to work such as the one in the link below?

The USB wireless adapaters in general are not universal. They require matching "drivers" in the controlling device.

They often come with "drivers" you load into your laptop if the laptop did not already have the driver in Windows. This is a common format for accessiores - often you needed a new driver for a new USB mouse etc. Windows updates often add these drivers as the accessories become more common.

The problem with the TV is it does already have the driver for the stated compatible adapter but you cannot load any new drivers into the TV (it is a TV not a computer). If this USB wireless adapter is not compatible with the TV built-in driver, then this adapter will not work.

The only way to tell for sure is to actually try the adapter in question.
