Just thought I would add to the discussion, I have had the 880 for about 4 and a half years and use it to control
Pioneer VSX 921
Asus custom build HTPC w/ Win 7 and MediaBrowser
have loved the 880 but the volume up button is getting harder to activate so when the $160 offer for the Touch came up last week (Officeworks in Oz), pulled the trigger;)
I successfully migrated my activites across but weirdly it picked my TV as another model, so just swapped out for the correct device.
I have really come to enjoy the Touch, beautiful feel in your hand, great weight and nicely responsive touch screen.
For my purposes, I love having the soft buttons on my screen, I use the gestures a lot (swipe forward to jump 1.30 min fwd in MPC-HC, backward the opposite and touch to play/pause), and the hard transport buttons at the top infrequently to jump fwd 30 secs.
Also like that I have a lot more commands available to me on the touch screen, such as prev subtitle/next subtitle/next audio etc which works great with MPC-HC and MediaBrowser.
The favorites is a...favorite for watching TV (thanks to squareeyes for the Australian TV icons
All in all very impressed with build quality and programmability and would recommend this to people. I have yet to accidentally hit the touch screen although admittedly I only use the play/pause/stop hard transports when watching a DVD ISO using WMC,(which is not often...most of my media are ts files or mkv handled by MPC-HC...thus I use the touch screen for transport).
Battery life is less than the 880 but I expected that with a larger capacative touch screen, and the cradle works nicely
Hope this helps anyone on the fence, my 880 is now in storage awaiting a Home theater room build (years away;))
