I'm happy to report that the Harmony Smart Control is now joined with the Harmony Touch in the same account, so I can use both remotes with the Hub. I wasn't sure this was going to be the case based on what I was reading in the forums (I thought I should NOT have purchased the Smart Control and wait for the stand-alone Hub in order for it to be tied with my Touch). When I upgraded the firmware of my Touch a few days ago, I was ecstatic when I saw the option to tie it with my Smart Control! Thank you, Harmony...I just wish this was properly communicated to users that this was going to be the case (unless I missed that communication).
Both remotes work perfectly together with the same Hub. It's worth the extra $30 IMHO to have a 2nd remote available with the Hub for another room (since it's all RF). I guess this option is only available for Touch users since the Ultimate comes with a Hub (hey...at least we early adopters get one advantage!)
I do wish us Touch users could somehow get the haptic feedback and the accelerometer to light up the remote when it's picked up...oh well.
I did find one bug with the Smart Control remote - I cannot assign a Long Press function to the Blue button. Harmony Team
- can you please fix?
Other than that I have not run across any other bugs with the remotes. (Note - you have to individually program each of the 2 remotes separately for each button, which is perfect as I want them to behave a bit differently since the button layout is different. The only functions that are grayed out on the Smart Control remote are the 3 Activity Buttons. Harmony Team
- any chance of re-activating these so that I can choose 6 activities to assign to them (both short and long press) like I could prior to the firmware update?)
Harmony - thank you for not making me regret buying the Smart Control ahead of the Touch firmware update.
I will also post this in the Logitech forums.
