That's like asking if the world is better off without penicillin?
The point, old world amplifiers coupled with CODEC's or yesterday's amplifiers vs today amplifiers vs today's vs yesterday's hourly wages vs purchasing price. Is a 1962 color TV, better than a contemporary 60" TV that one can buy today, vs 1962 prices? Same thing.
