I am building a new house and am planning a 5.1 surround sound system for the family room, which will, yes, feature a tv over the fireplace. Unfortunately, my wife despises speakers. She wants to put everything in the ceiling, but I do not want to go that route. As a compromise, I am considering putting the two rear speakers in the ceiling, having a free-standing subwoofer on the floor, and getting a 3.0 soundbar-ish component to wall-mount under the tv. I am thinking of something like an Atlantic Technology FS-5000 or a Triad Mini 3.0 unit. I am guessing this would offer better sound quality for 2.0 music than in-wall or ceiling speakers. Does this sound reasonable? Any other suggestions for a 3.0 soundbar?
