My friend said with bookshelf speakers I'm missing lows in those channels w/o full range speakers. So my idea is to add a sub in the rear speaker level inputs on a small sub. what are your thoughts on that?
If your AVR has bass management functionality and your speakers are set to "small", the range of frequencies below the crossover point (that is to say, the bass) that would be going to those speakers is directed to your sub(s). So you're not missing out on anything.
