Actually I no longer use speaker cable but HO guage railroad track. You can laugh all you want but try it. Its usually pure copper rails, separated a decent distance, easy to mount off the floor and very inconspicuous. Previously I tended to use welding cable.

Don't let the copper thieves know this! You'll come home some evening to see your system stripped of its rails and your expensive loudspeakers sitting there intact!
