Mixing/Connecting 6ohm and 8ohm Speakers to same Receiver ?

Heylo All,

I was hoping someone could help me here !

I have a pair of Yamaha NS-A200XT Towers ( 6ohms )and JBLs( 8 ohms ) and a JBL Sub ( 8 ohms ).

Would it be okay to connect all of those to the same receiver ( Yamaha RX-V665 ).

I would like to use the Yamahas for my Front L and R; and my JBLs for SR, SL, Center, SB-L, SB-R and the sub making it a 7.1 Setup.

Are there going to be any problems in connecting a setup this way ?

If I can/if it is okay to do this, what are my advantages/disadvantages and what should be my precautions ?

Any kind of thoughts / advice / help on this would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Cheers all...

No problem at all. A speakers's impedance is only nominal, as it changes with the frequency. Plus you are only talking a 2Ω difference.
