Upconverting audio receiver question......................

Do any of the new audio receivers upconvert over component to the tv ?

I realize that hd players need hdmi to do this.

Are receivers the same and need hdmi to the tv to upconvert or

will they upconvert to the tv via component ?

Generally the upper lower level models will up convert component ---> HDMI. For example, with Denon AVRs, the 1912 (last year) and 1913 (current year) are the lowest models that can up convert component --> HDMI. Upscaling of the video resolution would be over HDMI output only.

With ya on that...............knew they would upconvert component to hdmi.

I am asking if an audio receiver can upconvert over component TO THE TV ?

In other wordes component from the receiver to tv ?

I imagine the answer is no but thought I would ask those

here that know definitely.

Your question is unclear to me - and I'm guessing but I would imagine its unclear to others as well. Which 'audio receiver' do you specifically have in mind?
If you use component video signals from a receiver to a tv the tv will upconvert the signal so it can utilize the full screen in its native resolution.

You question is very confusing? Do you want to:

Send HDMI signals from the receiver to the TV via component video? If so, the answer is NO. Cannot convert HDMI to component video.

if your question is something else please explain more clearly. Thanks.

And please list a specific receiver you have in mind.

Thought I was being clear and no the tv won't upconvert the signal.

Receiver to tv is component. Are there any audio receivers out there that will upconvert from receiver to tv

via component ?

Think the qu. is about upconverting composite and S-video input to component video output.

Some receivers can convert composite or S-Video analog video signals input to the receiver into a component analog signal that's output from the receiver. This is a sideways conversion, the resolution of the video signal remains the same on output as at the input.

No receiver I know of will will take a composite, S-Video or component signal input to the receiver and upconvert it to a higher resolution component signal that's output from the receiver.

No receiver I know of will take an HDMI video signal input to the receiver and convert it to component video signal that's output from the receiver.
