Denon 2313CI audio on monitor 2

Hello,
I am running into an issue with my setup. I have a Denon 2313CI. From here there is an HDMI going to an Mitsubishi projector. In addition, I have a TV in the bar area that is connected to monitor 2 out via hdmi. I can get a picture at the bar TV, but no sound. Can the Denon just do a pass through to monitor 2 or do I need to put in a hdmi splitter or analog cable?

Thanks!

with just the avr, you can either pass the audio through OR have it processed by the avr... not both...

to do what you want, you would need a matrix switch before the avr...

If the 2313CI is still new, exchange it for a 3313CI which has the Zone 2 (HDMI) monitor output.

Can I just throw a powered sound bar on the TV and use an optical input from the TV?
I really don't want to open a can of worms by using a matrix switch as the projector is 3D and the TV is not.

Thanks!

nope... not if you want to get sound out of the avr too...

In order for there to be audio from a sound bar connected to the TV, the TV speakers have to be able to pass the audio as well.

Hello Again,
So I exchanged the 2313 for a 3313 and still cannot pass sound to the TV. I have video, but no audio at the TV. I am obviously missing something here.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

The TV must be connected to the Zone 2(HDMI) output and one of the HDMI sources 1-6 selected for Zone 2.
