Help in building an HTPC machine, first one. Need a front end.

I am working on building an HTPC, it is not meant to be a DVR so there wont be any video capture devices. The catch is with mine, it wont have any local storage, just an SSD which has the OS and the frontend. Everything is stored on a local server I built which has like 6 3TB hard drives connected in RAID5 configuration. It is because of the RAID5 thing and the nature of wireless that capturing TV shows on the fly would not be a good thing.

I am looking for a good front end for it. OS does not matter. I need it to

Work with a Wiimote or equivalent. I do know how to set up wii remotes on computers.
Work with a network, ie access stuff on network storage.
Be able to launch software, such as a video game emulator or a Blu-ray playing program.

XBMC is pretty popular. I am using a HP mini keyboard on one machine and a Lenovo keyboard remote on the other.
