it apparently is a matter of HDMI sync issues.
I have three different sources (PS-3, Oppo BDP-105, Verizon FIOS decoder) outputting to the Marantz.
Then the Marantz outputs to a JVC X-55 in the main zone and to a LG 55" in zone 4.
After writing my previous post I have been tweaking a bit. Both (pj and TV) working and switching sources.
if the source is common for both, then no problem appeared.
when using different sources sometimes pj lost sync, sometimes tv, sometimes both.
there was not a clear pattern. oppo was outputing 1080p24 12 bit, PS-3 1080p24 8bit and verizon FIOS 1080i. I thought that the sync was due to higher bandwidth signals, but I found out that sometimes the sync was lost when swithching to Fios, that was the lowest bandwith of the three.
When sync loss occured, as turning on/off is not an option for the jvc, I tried turning off the Marantz. It only worked when turning off both the main zone and the zone4. Just turning off the unit without turning off the zone4 didn't work.
However doing the entire proccess, after turning on the main unit and the zone 4, everything was running ok again. if I then I started swithching again sooner or later the missync backs again.
Is it normal in a device in this price range?
I remember that in my old Denon AVC-A11XV I experienced similar issues. But I thought it was because was one of the earliest hdmi implemented receivers.
Anybody has got similar issues?
