Min Throw Distance question

Thread Starter
I have a 120" w cinescope (CIH) screen installed and a Panasonic AE4000u. I have the projector installed at a throw of 14'. The throw is perfect for the size of my screen. Here is my dilemma. I am now wanting to increase the size of my screen to 153" w. I have been looking at throw distances calculators and the min stated is 17' (give or take). Without greaaaaat effort, I cannot move my projector. This is a factor that I did not consider when I installed everything.

So with a throw of 14', do I have to stay with a 120" wide screen? I am wanting to increase the size of the screen to increase the size of screen for 1.85:1 movies. I have a big room. If my projector is at a throw of 14' and I increase my screen from 120" to 153", will the projector not be able to fill the screen?

I am wondering what my options are?

I appreciate any input/suggestions

You could use something like a Navitar Screenstar Conversion Lens - http://navitar.com/product/hd-screenstar-lenses.aspx

The HD ones work really well.

I agree with Craig, look at the HD, not the regular ones and you will like the image that you will get. If we can help you, let us know.
