HELP Vertical black line Panasonic 50"

I have a TC-P50G10. It has about a 2" vertical line just left of center running from top to bottom. It started off intermittently but now it's there all the time. If the TV is off for awhile its not as bad but gets worse the longer the TV stays on and eventually it will go completely black. I have done a little research and if I understand the information that I read this problem is probably the panel and its not worth fixing. I'm just trying to get a second opinion before I trash this one and buy another.

It might be worth the chance to replace the C-board. They usually are inexpensive.
