I can tell you that I heard the same thing at the place I'll likely buy my TV from. The owner is a good friend of ours and I trust him implicitly.
Supposedly, due to demand versus inventory, the prices of most 2012 Panasonic plasmas will be going up by around ~$100 in the next month or so or retailers will simply end their current round of $100-$200 promotional pricing. As for sales on these come Boxing Day (and I assume Black Friday as well) the general consensus is "no way" unless a retailer somehow has excessive inventory of a certain model.
