VHS to DVD Copyright

Hi, A buddy of mine has several hundred VHS Movies that he would like to copy onto an DVD.. I have an JVC Machine that will do
dubbing in both directions.. It is an DR-MV99B.. When I try to dub from VHS to the DVD, the Machine states that this VHS is Copyright
protected and will Not Dub it.. I have heard that there are some older machines they will do this job.. Maybe some older Panasonic's..
Can anyone advise me on this and provide Name and Model numbers??
All help is appreciated..
Tnx, WG

Note most combo recorders will not allow you to insert such a filter between the 2 sides of the combo, not sure about your JVC.
Older (pre EZ model) Panasonics will, otherwise you'll need a separate VHS player or separate DVDR and use your combo to just play the tapes.
The general wisdom is( considering the quality of VHS) is it's just not worth converting tapes you can easily purchase or rent on DVD, but it's your call smile.gif
