Earlier in this thread I stated that I've had the same problem with FLAC playback. I believe that I now know why. ID3v2 tags are not valid inside a FLAC file (they're primarily for MP3 files), yet many of my old FLAC files do have ID3v2 tags. Apparently the CD ripper/encoder software that I used back then (~2004) added both FLAC tags and the non-compliant ID3v2 tags. I stripped the ID3v2 tags on a few of the problem albums and the files then worked on my BDP-103 and BDP-105.
