Okay, so I'm facing a somewhat awkward problem with my setup. If I my Oppo BDP-103EU to my AV-receiver using HDMI Output 1 I'm only getting regular stereo PCM from my DTS:HD MA, Dolby True HD and FLAC 5.1 tracks. If I connect using HDMI Output 1 to my television, and Output 2 for audio only to my receiver I'm getting perfect bitstream of DTS:HD MA, Dolby True HD but no audio from FLAC whatsoever.
How come it's capable of decoding DTS:HD MA and Dolby True HD within my MKV's using HDMI Output 2 in audio only mode, but not when using HDMI Output 1 for both video and audio? It's capable of bitstreaming both while playing back actual Blu-Rays.
I'm not seeing anything other than stereo while playing back Blu-Rays either..
Check that your 103EU is set to a video output resolution of 720p or higher. For the HDMI 1 (only) test, be sure the HDMI 2 output is not also connected.
While playing the problem content, press the Info button on the remote. If playing a shiny disc, use Page Up/Down to see additional info. That will tell you what the player thinks it is being asked to play and what it is sending out on the two HDMI connections.
Are you only having these problems when playing MKV files? I.e., are DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD working OK on HDMI 1 when playing regular Blu-ray discs? If so, there may be something strange in the authoring of your MKV files. The MediaInfo utility which has been discussed multiple times in this thread will display the details of what's in your media files.
