I just set up my right, center, left, and sub with my Onkyo 805. I am still waiting to decide what surrounds to order.
When listening to regular cable tv (Brighthouse cable box) I either will only hear sound through the center channel or I can change the setting to stereo and listen to sound through all but the sub.
My question is this, When watching regular tv/hdtv, is it normal to for the receiver to use only the center or R/L speakers and not the sub? Or do I have something set up wrong? is there a conversion problem?
And once I get my surrounds, will they be utilized with watching cable tv? Or will the surround setup just used for music and dvd/bluray movies?
Thanks
