I am currently trying to decide between going with a two channel rig or use an avr. I like the flexibility of the inputs and running audio and video to another zone, but also want the best sound i can get. I currently have a pioneer sc-07 i use for surround sound, and have a denon dra-397 for 2 channel. I am using the denon to run a set of klipsch rf7ii's. I got a quote for a denon 3313 for $950 from a local shop, and the pioneer is around the $1300 range online. I am unsure of the sound of the denon because the dealer is more of a custom install place and doesnt keep recievers in stock. I have an idea of the pioneer sound because i hooked the sc-07 up to the klipschs' and the newer models are supposed to be a little better than mine. Never heard a denon avr and can only go by the sound from the 397, which is not too good. There is a big difference in power rating between the sc-07 and the 397, but in general at all volume levels the pioneer is cleaner and crisp sounding compared to the denon. So anybody with experience with the sc-67 or the 3313 please chime in and give me your likes and dislikes, impressions, or thoughts.
