Onkyo TX-SR575 flashing standby light blinking....

Hello all,

I have done a search for this and so after reading this, I think that I know what the answer to this is going to be. I have an Onkyo TX-SR575 that I bought a few years ago, and until today it has worked with no problems. However, now when I turn it on, it kicks back off after a few seconds and the standby light begins to flash. I have the manual and so I did as instructed, unplugged the power cord for a few hours, and unplugged all of the speakers. I just plugged it back in and the same thing, it kicks off and the flashing red light. I then tried the reset and again, no luck.

So can anyone offer any advice as to if it's fixable on my end? I don't think at this point it would be worth it to take it to be repaired, but I could be wrong.

Also, if it's unfixable, can anyone recommend a good receiver under $350? All I'm looking for is 5.1 with at least 3 or 4 HDMI inputs.

Pull all of the connections to the AVR except for the power cord and turn it on. If it is still going into protect mode then its probably dead.

Also try popping the top of the unit and see if there is anything noticebly wrong (eg. blown fuse that can be replaced). For a replacement, last year's models are on clearance at great prices ... look for the Denon 1612 which would be an upgrade as it uses the more advanced Audyssey MultEQ which can EQ the sub (which the 2EQ on your 575 cannot do).
