And what about operating noise? Is it loud,or good enough?(Depending on how far you are sitting from the PJ)

its good... Its better than the 5010 epson in high lamp mode... there are quieter projectors out there though, i doubt its as quiet as the sony for example... I think mitsi rate it at 25db in low lamp mode...

I cant imagine a better all round projector for under $3000. As long as you don't need to light up a 120" or bigger screen. Excellent 3D, Top notch blacks for a DLP, and a great lens and a super fast DI.
The most recent projector I owned was a TW9000 and the experience watching the HC8000 is just on another level smile.gif

How does everyone think this compares to the BenQ W7k? I have the BenQ and it is pretty nice minus the blacks so I am thinking about moving to the Mits if the blacks can justify the added cost...
Also will DLP link glasses work with the Mits?

If you've not read zombie10k's shootout in the over $3k forum, I suggest you start there. Also, have you tried making iris adjustments in the firmware? If not, check out the W7k thread over there as well.

im not familiar with the black levels of the w7000. Art says the HC8000 just edges out the blacks of the Panasonic ae8000 which sounds about right to me as it seems just under my old TW9000 ..

I doubt the HC8000 would be worth the upgrade unless it didnt up costing much. You would take take a hit in the brightness too. Id like to be able to have a look at the w7000 to tell you how much of an upgrade it woud be smile.gif

Universal glasses such as the Xpands will work, or the Genuine ones designed specifically for the projector. The latter being the best bet as they let in more light than the universal ones.

I called them, they said they already have HC8000D, but they do not sell it over internet, you have to come to the store.

Can someone explain why Mitsubishi (and others) do that? I don't understand.

Dude, cause some of us still work in AV shops and need to be employed. We can't all be plugged into the matrix you know. Geez.

Well, if you are out of a job one day, especially one you love with a passion, call me...cause then you would know how I felt as the internet swallows up all the retail stores in this world.

Gbickle. How about the menu issues?Hc 7800 mentioned as it had many issues with its menus, they were slow ,had to wait for seconds, that was a bit annoying. The softvare of hc8000 is ok??And how about its 3d ??Is it flickering or already smooth, like DI??If these were positive i would buy it!!!
Can be heard DI during operation?

The menus seem normal and instant... I didnt know the HC7800 had a problem with menus.

The Di is quiet. I cant hear it. The 3D Is the best I have seen on a projector yet with the genuine glasses that I have. I have a 100" Screen though. Its not as bright as my tw9000 was but bright enough.

Then u use the original glasses??The new ones (i mean not the bulky old)??
I wonder about the DI how can manage the subtitles.Have u tried to watch any film with subtitle ,when DI is on???It would be important for me ,because i,m Hungarian so i need subtitles, and i'm not fond of pulsing lights, that can be seen on subtitles.
